hpdDesign was approached to do a website promoting the book, The Birthday Gift that Beeped, with leading characters, Beeping Ben (a smoke alarm) and Joey, a young boy interested in fire safety. The website offers basic information, but will be expanded to full e-commerce capabilities to sell the book and fire safety educational materials.
The Birthday Gift that Beeped is a story about a boy whose smoke alarm birthday gift saved his family's lives in an accidental home fire. The book has been used for over 35-years in fire safety education classes and demonstrations.
The content management system, Drupal, was chosen as the framework for its flexibility, ability to grow, and the power of its integrated ecommerce platform.
