A recent website completed by hpdDesign was for the S.P.U.D. 2015 tournament. S.P.U.D. stands for "Special Populations Unified Doubles" and is a tournament sponsored by Tennis Nashville, the local community tennis association of USTA Southern. The date for the 2nd Annual S.P.U.D. Tournament is July 25, 2015 and it will be held at the Centennial Sportsplex Tennis Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
The tennis tournament features doubles play with special needs athletes playing with unified partners as well as a Skills & Thrills event; a series of contests for those not quite ready for competitive play. The tournament is sponsored by Tennis Nashville, Holiday Inn Vanderbilt, Wilson Sporting Goods and the USTA, but is run entirely by qualified volunteers.
An informational website was needed for providing information to potential participants, volunteers and sponsoring organizations, as well as to display photos of past tournaments. Videos that are hosted on YouTube.com are also displayed on the website and viewing them would be a great way to get a good feel for this meaningful special needs population event.
